Paul Imhoff is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Associate Director of the graduate program in Water Science and Policy and has a joint appointment in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences. Paul is a recipient of an NSF Early Career Development Award.
Imhoff’s research focus is the movement of fluids and mass transfer processes in porous media, with a particular emphasis on model development and application. His research spans a range of environmental problems including soil and groundwater remediation, design of landfill cover systems to enhance oxidation of fugitive landfill gas, modification of geomedia (e.g., amendment with biochar) in stormwater treatment systems to enhance pollutant removal, and more recently the assessment of sea level rise on environmental engineering systems.
